Marinated Flank Steak

Ingredients
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons lime zest
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (2-pound) flank steak or 2 (1-pound) flank steaks
Instructions
- Combine onion, cilantro, vinegar, olive oil, lime juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, zest, garlic, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish or a large re-sealable plastic bag; add steak. Cover or seal, and chill 12 hours, turning steak occasionally.
- Remove steak from marinade, discarding marinade.
- Cook steak, without grill lid, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°) about 5 minutes on each side, or to desired degree of doneness. To serve, slice diagonally across grain.
