
Goat Cheese-And-Chive Scones

Ingredients
- Makes about 1 dozen
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- ½ cup butter
- 2 (4-ounce) packages goat cheese
- ¼ cup finely minced chives
- ⅔ cup half-and-half
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place flour in a medium bowl. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter and goat cheese until mixture is crumbly. Add chives; stir well. Add half-and-half, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a ½-inch thickness. Cut scones using a 2 ¾-inch heart-shaped cutter, and: place on prepared pan. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes, or until lightly browned. Brush with melted butter. Serve with Sally Tomato Relish.

Sally Tomato Relish

Ingredients
- Makes about 1½ cups
- 1 (35-ounce) can Italian plum tomatoes, drained
- 4 shallots, peeled
- 3 tablespoons molasses, divided
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¾ teaspoon salt, divided
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-inch rimmed baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil.
- Place tomatoes and shallots on prepared pan.
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons molasses, olive oil, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Using a pastry brush, brush molasses mixture onto both sides of tomatoes and shallots. Bake for 1 hour.
- In the work bowl of a food processor, combine tomatoes, shallots, remaining 1 tablespoon molasses, remaining ¼ teaspoon salt, remaining ¼ teaspoon pepper, and vinegar. Pulse to desired consistency.
