Mother’s Day Reflections from The Staff of Southern Lady

Growing up with both my mother and grandmother under one roof meant Mother’s Day always brought double the excitement and surprises planned for their special day. Luckily, my sister and I were up for the task. From handmade cards to no-bake meals and special entertainment we did our best to see that they enjoyed a fun-filled, relaxing day. I can honestly say I’ve learned all of life’s most valuable lessons from these two ladies and I am forever grateful for the time they invested in teaching me everything from etiquette and cooking to the importance of being a confidant and strong Southern woman.

While my grandmother is no longer with us, there isn’t a day that goes by without me wishing she were here to see how her guidance and wisdom continue to shape me into the person I am today. As my sister and I’ve gotten older, we continue to shower my mother with love and affection each year. Regardless of what day it is and whether we are together, Mother’s Day is a holiday we try to celebrate year-round.
