
Pear Cobbler with Streusel Topping

Ingredients
- 10 cups sliced green Anjou pears (about 6 pears)
- 1⁄4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 11⁄2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- Streusel Topping (recipe follows)
- Vanilla ice cream
- Garnish: chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly grease a 3-quart casserole dish.
- In a large bowl, combine pears and orange juice.
- In a separate bowl, combine sugars, cornstarch, zest, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
- Combine sugar mixture and pear mixture; toss gently to coat. Evenly layer pear mixture in prepared casserole dish. Top with Streusel Topping. Bake until lightly browned, about 1 hour. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Garnish with chopped pecans, if desired.

Ingredients
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1⁄2 cup butter
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and oats. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until crumbly.
