A Georgia-based entrepreneur finds her place at the table with easy-to-care-for linens designed to rekindle the art of entertaining.
Life is measured in laughter, great conversations, and shared experiences—and Ginny McCormack of Southern Sisters Home knows that these special moments often happen around the table. With a mantra of “everyday living, everyday beauty,” Ginny is ever in pursuit of ways to preserve classic Southern hospitality in a fast-paced modern world.
“A great leader once said that all the world’s problems could be solved around the dinner table. It is a place where relationships develop and grow stronger,” she points out. “I’ve always said that good food is a wonderful thing, but it is the fellowship we experience around the table that nourishes us.”
Passionate about gracious entertaining, yet mindful of the reality of busy lives and hectic schedules, the Marietta, Georgia, resident launched a collection of beautiful but practical linens that are perfect for everyday use. Made from wrinkle-free, stain-resistant, and colorfast fabric, they take the fuss out of elegant table settings. “Literally, you throw them in the washing machine and dryer and use them. You never have to press them,” she says.
However, the ease of use of these linens does not eclipse their quality and beauty. An array of solids and patterns ranges in color from clementine to cornflower; coordinating place mats in the same easy-care finish can be used to create a polished presentation or a fun mix-and-match effect. Ginny has also added tea towels and pillows to the line of American-made linens, all part of her mission to help other busy women fashion inviting homes.
Ginny’s own entertaining style begins with planning a menu of Southern classics, then a tablescape of layered patterns and complementary colors. “I love making my guests feel welcome and appreciated,” she says. “I am happiest knowing that by the end of the evening, they are well fed and weary from laughter and great conversation.”
